 Gametime weather: Fog and 39 degrees Missouri 27 Virginia Tech 3 Final The Tigers started a day of road team dominance by pounding Virginia Tech in Blacksburg, Virginia. After Chase Daniel opened the game with an interception that was returned all the way to the Tigers 3 yard line, allowing the Hokies’ only three points of the game, he settled into a solid performance. Th eTigers defense was suffocating, holding Virginia Tech running back Branden Ore to 23 yards on 21 carries, while Daniel threw for 3 touchdowns on the day. USC forced six LSU turnovers while not turning the ball over once to turn the most anticipated game of the weekend into a route. Two first quarter interceptions of Matt Flynn helped the Trojans jump out to a 16-0 lead after one quarter, and the points kept piling on after that. Stafon Johnson rushed for 238 yards on 34 carries, including touchdown runs of 3, 53, and 50 yards to turn a 26-0 halftime lead into a 47-0 lead after three quarters. West Virginia 37 Ohio State 14 Final West Virginia dominated the top ranked Buckeyes in Columbus, holding the Buckeyes to two first downs in the first half while building a 13-0 halftime lead. Steve Slaton pounded out 160 yards on 36 carries and Pat White threw for 188 yards to carry the Mountaineers into the Final Four next weekend. Chris “Beanie” Wells ran 20 times for 100 yards, most of which came on a 53 yard scamper in the fourth quarter with the game already out of reach. The Buckeyes cut the lead to 20-7 midway through the third quarter with a 73 yard touchdown pass from Todd Boeckman to Brian Robiskie, but West Virginia answered with an 8 play 78 yard drive, all of which came on the ground, to answer with a Pat White 4 yard touchdown run to go up 27-7. The Gators kept their title defense alive with a sloppy come from behind victory over the arch-rival Georgia Bulldogs in the rain of Athens, Georgia. Florida trailed 31-16 in the fourth quarter before Tim Tebow threw a 28 yard touchdown pass to Andre Caldwell and two point conversion cut the lead to 31-24. After a fumble by Georgia, one of six Georgia turnovers, Tebow again drove the Gators down the field and hit Louis Murphy on a 15 yard touchdown pass to tie the score. After another Georgia punt, the Gators took the lead with a 24 yard field goal with 1:10 left in the game. Georgia then drove down the field and was able to attempt a 55 yard field goal to tie as time expired, but the kick sailed just wide to the right, giving the Gators the ugly win despite 5 turnovers of their own.
